Getting help shouldn't be dependent upon your financial means. My modern therapy practice is exclusively online, using video sessions via a secure internet platform. This cost-cutting measure allows me to offer my professional expertise at a more affordable rate than traditional modes of therapy.

Many people do not seek treatment because they cannot afford treatment and this is a big problem in our society. Even those with health insurance are having this problem because many do not cover mental health care at all. Therapy generally ranges from $65 per hour to $250 or more. In most areas of the country, a person can expect to pay $100-$200 per session. (Source: www.goodtherapy.com)

For this reason, my practice follows a sliding scale payment model to help clients. In a nutshell sliding scale is paying for adjusted rates of therapy according to one's income. All clients receive the same services but the amount you pay goes by your income, period. Depending upon income, clients pay between $60-$100 per counseling session with me. My specific practice guidelines can be discussed privately.

If you are covered under Optum/UnitedHealthcare and are interested in scheduling an appointment with me, please verify your in-network outpatient tele-mental health benefits by calling the telephone number on the back of your insurance card. I will ask for this information before we meet for our initial counseling session.

Questions to consider:

  1. Does my plan cover tele-mental health services?

  2. Do I have a deductible? If so, how much?

  3. What is my co-pay for each counseling session?
